Het Lokaal
It doesn't get any more local than this!Het Lokaal is a restaurant and store full of local products. Here they bake their own bread, roast coffee and brew their own beer. Stop by for freshly baked (sourdough) bread, baked by De Nieuwe Stadsbakkers.
Be sure to try a cup of Boot Koffie. This coffee comes from coffee farmers in developing countries, who have received a fair price for their beans. Boot Koffie places great value on personal contact and believes in long-term relationships—not only with coffee drinkers but also with its suppliers. That’s why the name of the coffee farmer in question is prominently displayed on the coffee labels.

De Kastanjeboom
![]()
This delightful spot, on the outskirts of Amersfoort, is very easy to reach by bike. Here you can take a break from your bike ride and treat yourself to a cup of cappuccino made with farm-fresh milk. And of course, some treats! Such as a homemade tulband cake with Achterhoek jam and farm-fresh whipped cream, or pastries from the local bakery.
As the name suggests, De Kastanjeboom is also a “Landwinkel” (farmers’ market). Here, you can choose from a wide range of regional products, such as Boerenkaas. This cheese is made differently than regular cheese. The milk comes straight from the cow and has not undergone any heat treatment. This is called “raw” milk—milk in its purest form. It is precisely this that gives farmhouse cheese its characteristic, full-bodied, and robust flavor, which is unique to farmhouse cheese.

Country store & cheese farm De Kopermolen
Still not enough of cheese? Great! At De Kopermolen you can get lost among the homemade cheeses from their own cow. The cheeses are made and processed on location, where the welfare of the cows is most important. The barn is animal-friendly furnished with comfortable water beds. In summer, the cows are out in the meadow to graze the fresh grass.
De Kopermolen’s location is fantastic. From the terrace, you can enjoy a beautiful, green view. Is it raining? Don’t worry—there’s always the covered terrace. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a slice of cake from our own kitchen. You can also have lunch here; try, for example, a homemade grilled cheese sandwich, a muesli roll with cheese, or currant bread with butter.

De Nieuwe Graanschuur
The last stop of this route is at De Nieuwe Graanschuur, in the heart of Amersfoort. A store with organic products mainly from the region, packed in as little material as possible. So that less packaging material needs to be produced and thrown away. So be sure to stop by with your own bag, container or bottle! For those who need something quickly, or for the novice 'refiller' there are also bags, trays and bottles for sale on location.
Local caterers prepare takeout meals daily. In these meals, they use surplus produce or items that are of perfect quality but don’t quite meet a supermarket’s aesthetic standards. These products might otherwise have ended up on the compost heap. In this way, they combat food waste while simultaneously creating a tasty and healthy meal.
