FREEDOM FOUR YEARS TOGETHER!
This year Amersfoort is going big with a liberation festival throughout the city! On the Hof, Groenmarkt Enjoy live performances, the tunes of vinyl DJs and a delicious beer. Besides the familiar conviviality, after last year's success, the entry of the Freedom Flame, the various freedom meals and the parade of defense vehicles also return. Celebrate freedom your way!

Freedom Flame - The Official Launch Pad
11:00 a.m.
On the Hof , the freedom fire from Wageningen will be received by our deputy mayor Micheline Paffen.

Freedom Meal - Dining Together in Freedom
11:00-13:00 a.m.
On the three squares(Groenmarkt, Lievevrouwekerkhof and Hof) in the city center you can go for the Freedom Brunch! Reservations can be made here.

Inspiring Stories of Freedom
During the meal
While we eat together, well-known Amersfoorters share their personal stories about freedom. This year there will be talks by deputy mayor Micheline Paffen, city poet Floris Huetink, Kamp Amersfoort and Sovjet Ereveld!

Music on the Hof, Groenmarkt and Krankeledenplantsoen
From 1 p.m.
After the meal the party bursts loose! On the Hof, Groenmarkt, Koppelpoort and the Krankeledenplantsoen everyone enjoys free live music and atmosphere.

Walk along War Monuments
At 11:00 and 14:30 - start Observant
Stadsgilde Amersfoort offers a historical walking tour with experienced guides on may 1,2,3,4 and 5 along important war sites in the city center. The Second World War walk of 1.5 hours is really a must-do!

11:00-13:00 Free freedom meal with soup, sandwiches, snacks, coffee or tea, juices and sweets, provided by Stadscafé, Bacio, Marktzicht, Hete kolen, Diez, Boothill Saloon, Charlies burger and Long Johns. Reserve your spot soon!
10:00-13:00 Defense will be on hand with impressive army vehicles.

KRANKELEDENPLANTSOEN
This year there will be another unforgettable party at the Krankeledenplantsoen. Here you can celebrate freedom for free!
With this year: Long John's, Boothill Saloon, Charlie's Burger and Hete Kolen. From 15:30 there will be several DJs spinning and from 17:30 to 21:00 there will be live music.

Did you know.
Amersfoort was only liberated on may 7? Fighting still took place on may 5. On may 7 and 8 the British and Canadian soldiers entered Amersfoort and the city was liberated!
