The largest parade above the rivers
Hoogland is the heart of carnival above the rivers. For six days, our neighboring village will be bursting at the seams with colorful costumes, beautiful floats and carnival hits blasting through the speakers. Prince Thijs of Carnival Foundation De Eemschuumers will stop at nothing: from electricity to welding - Prince Thijs will fix it!
Carnival Parade - Sunday 15-02
In Hoogland, the largest carnival procession from above the rivers is held with tens of thousands of visitors every year. Every year a new Prince is elected, this year it is Thijs .

The parade starts on the Hamseweg, continues towards the Zevenhuizerstraat and the Esdoornlaan to then go via the Acacialaan to the Plataanweg. The procession then heads back to Zevenhuizerstraat to end on the parking lot of St. Martinus Church via Kerklaan.

The theme of this year: Prince Thijs fixt het wel
Our Prince Thijs is known as a real go-getter. With his own handyman business he doesn't turn his hand to anything: from electricity to welding and everything in between. Whatever the job, Prince Thijs takes it on - and solves it.
Together with Court lady Leonie and Adjutant Zjuul he is at aan het roer of Carnival 2026. The theme is therefore not for nothing: "Prince Thijs fixt it". A Picobello Carnival full of fun and festivity!

Carnival celebrations in Concordia
On Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday there are parties at Concordia in Hoogland. On Friday there is Youth Carnival for ages 14 and up. On Saturday it's time for the Grand Festival. On Monday and Tuesday you party again during the Carnival Festival and the Doordouwersbal.
