Guided Tour: Highlights from the Collection

Discover the most beautiful works of art from the Museum Amersfoort collection and learn why these pieces are so special.

Over the course of more than 150 years, Museum Amersfoort has built up a diverse collection—ranging from works by world-renowned artists to unique objects closely tied to the history of the city and the region. Together, they tell the story of Amersfoort.

During this guided tour, a docent will take you on a journey through some of the highlights of the collection. You’ll encounter artists such as Mathias Withoos, Balthasar van Ast, and Jacob van Campen, and discover why their work continues to inspire.

You’ll learn how the artworks were created, the stories behind them, and why they hold such an important place in the collection. This will allow you to see both familiar masterpieces and surprising objects with fresh eyes.
