FLUPS - Fashion Lending & Upcycle Store
"I like nothing in the Netherlands better than Amersfoort" begins Marina proudly. "To me, this is a village disguised as a city. So you won't get me out of here! I always get raving when I show friends and family around with my regular downtown tour. I can tell something about every nook and cranny!"
Stylish & Sustainable
We begin our journey at Flups in winkelgebied de Kamp. The name stands for “Fashion Lending and Upcycling Store.” In addition to being the owner of this shop, Marina is also the creative mind behind this uniqueand sustainable concept. “People love beautiful clothes. The urge to shop isn’t going away anytime soon. That’s why I decided to find a balance between shopping and helping the environment.”
At Flups , you can buy sustainable clothing, but you can also borrow it. That means you don’t buy unnecessary items, as is often the case at many thrift stores. That way, you’re truly being sustainable.”
Pimp My Style
Do you have old clothes that could use a makeover or a personal touch? Then Flups is the place for you! Every month, an “Upcycling” workshop is held in collaboration with Gine van de Naaimachine. Marina: “This way, you can extend the life of your favorite pieces of clothing or even learn how to create your own custom designs!”

In addition to secondhand clothing, you’ll find many unique products at Flups . Marina collaborates with creative artisans who turn waste into various accessories. Think, for example, of bags made from soda can tabs or earrings made from bicycle tires. Marina accepts absolutely everything that comes her way. “Is there something in there I can use? Then I’m in luck. If not, it’ll find its way through me to other foundations or charities.”
SUSTAINABLE SHOPPING ROUTE
The concept of Flups is well liked by shoppers. However, this is not the only thing Marina's passion for sustainability and knowledge of Amersfoort has led where. In fact, Marina also has her own sustainable shopping route! We go hunting for vintage furniture at Eigenaar 8 and for sustainable children's clothing at Beer en Schaap. Once it's time for a pit stop, we race back to the Kamp for a delicious scone at Something Else.
