Two friends, one dream. Even as teenagers, Cesare and Carmen wanted to run their own restaurant or café. Ideally, a daytime spot—but not your typical one. They won a contest for the best hospitality concept and were awarded this space on the side of the historic Mariënhof. In the monastery’s stylishly decorated conservatory, they serve tea, sweet and savory tarts, generously filled sandwiches, and fresh juices. Because, as the two young entrepreneurs say, you can always have cake.
