Every Saturday starting at 11 a.m., the church is open to all.
We believe it’s important for the church to be a place where people enjoy popping in—whether to experience the surprising silence amid the hustle and bustle of the shopping street, to light a candle for yourself or someone else, or simply out of an interest in old churches.
A host or hostess and a guide will welcome you and provide information upon request. This team of guides consists of members of the Lutherse kerk and other religious communities in Amersfoort, as well as volunteers with no religious affiliation. They all share an interest in people and historic sites. On a typical Saturday, they welcome an average of 50 people.
As part of the KunstKijkRoute, Vreemde Gasten, and Gluren bij de Buren events in the city center, the Lutherse Kerk serves as an exhibition space and concert venue for various artists. And, of course, the church is also open during Open Monuments Weekend (the second weekend in October).
