Visit the Volmolen get hands-on exposure to the craft of cotton printing. De Katoendrukkerij settles in national monument the Volmolen. Europe's first cotton printing company also settled in Amersfoort in the 17th century.
De in 1645 gebouwde Volmolen is hét symbool van de eeuwenlange textielnijverheid in de stad. Deze voormalige watermolen werd destijds op de stadsmuur gebouwd en zit aan de ene zijde vast aan de 14e eeuwse Koppelpoort. Deze land- en waterpoort is het meest bekende monument van de stad. Aan de andere zijde ligt de Volmolen aan het Zocherplantsoen en de Stoneystuw in de Oosterbuitensingel.
