Amersfoort Centraal Station is the main railway station in Amersfoort and a key hub for rail transport between the Randstad and the northern and eastern parts of the Netherlands. About 50,000 passengers pass through here every day, and in the coming decades, this number is expected to grow to more than 100,000. In the distant past, Amersfoort grew thanks to the arrival of the railroad. Today, the railroad is essential for the city’s continued healthy growth. Public transportation to and from the Amersfoort Centraal hub—both by train and by bus—contributes to a city that fosters healthy mobility and a green environment. Amersfoort will therefore focus on building new homes primarily near the railroad in the coming years.
Near the station is a bus station for city buses of Syntus Utrecht and regional buses of Syntus Utrecht, U-OV and EBS.
