Kasteel Groeneveld

Rich regents used to sway the scepter at Kasteel Groeneveld; now it is the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture, and Innovation. The eighteenth-century mansion and sprawling estate attract many visitors each year. Since 1982, Kasteel Groeneveld has housed the National Center for Forest, Nature and Landscape. As of 2007, this name was changed to 'Countryside between town and country'. The estate on which the castle is located was recently reconstructed to the situation at the turn of the century, that is, it was laid out in the English landscape style. It is an ideal terrain for hikers and nature lovers. The park has a marked hiking trail and an assignment trail for children. The 18th century kitchen garden, located along the driveway to the castle, has also been restored to its former glory and can be visited.

The castle houses a grand café where you can go for coffee, high tea, drinks or lunch. The kitchen uses organic products and is open from 11:00-17:00.

Grand cafe and playground

Grand Café Groeneveld is the place to go with your kids! On the back terrace of the Grand Café is a brand new playground. Lots of fun at Groeneveld with swings, a slide, a climbing frame and a diving frame! In addition, the kids can have fun in the sandbox or with the many sturdy tractors, balance bikes and go-karts! Meanwhile you can enjoy a snack and drink on the terrace.
