A marriage that derails

What begins as love turns into distrust and jealousy. Minor irritations grow into suspicion. When a violinist appears in his wife's life, he loses control and steers everything toward a fatal denouement.

While the man tries to explain his act, another voice is also heard. Inspired by texts by Sofia Tolstaja, the story takes on a contrary voice that chafes and raises questions.

On stage

Benja Bruijning stands as the husband in the middle of this story, surrounded by the all-female Ragazze Quartet. The quartet plays works by Leoš Janáček and arrangements of Beethoven's Kreutzersonate. The music runs through the story and ratchets up the tension, from initial turmoil to the eruption.
