In the run-up to the 2026 municipal elections, journalistic platform De Stadsbron is organizing a series of journalistic cafes. Under the title Destination2030, they will discuss the major tasks for Amersfoort in the coming years, such as mobility, housing and democracy. These meetings are organized in cooperation with the Samenwerkende Groeperingen Leefbaar Amersfoort and held at De WAR.

Thursday, February 12, the theme is sustainable building and living. How can we be smarter, more economical and resilient with the scarce resources available? What are the biggest challenges in reusing materials in construction? And what design strategies will make new buildings and neighborhoods less dependent on finite resources?

This evening's speaker is Jan Jongert, architect and co-founder of Superuse Studio. In his designs, both the buildings and the construction process have a minimal footprint by making optimal use of local resources and residual materials. In 2023, he curated the Dutch pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
