Come sail aboard a magnificent, nearly 100-year-old floating monument: the Bolivar
A few times each season, we set sail to view the moon from the water. We set out at dusk, heading toward the setting sun. Once the sun has disappeared behind the horizon, we turn back, heading toward the rising moon. This is a delightful trip; the changing colors of the sky and the city are stunning, and it’s a treat to watch the moon rise.
This full moon on November 24 is also known as the Beaver Moon.
What makes it special is that it’s also a “supermoon,” which means the moon may appear slightly larger and brighter than an average full moon. At that moment, the moon is very close to Earth in its orbit.
