Jamila & The Other Heroes is a Berlin 'band from manywhere' with an infectious mix of psychedelic desert rock, funk and Arabic influences. Frontwoman Jamila Al-Yousef, born on the day the Berlin Wall fell and shaped by her Palestinian roots, translates personal and political stories into a spirited, boundary-pushing sound. With vocals in both English and Arabic, the band switches effortlessly between cultures and styles, a powerful ode to connection, identity and resilience.
This fifth concert in the Musica Mundo Series 2026 promises an intense performance that fuses activism and musical ecstasy. Hypnotic guitar lines and pulsating bass lines form the foundation, while rhythms from afrobeat, hip-hop and rock create a constant drive. The stage becomes a place of encounter and shared energy, where everything comes together and sitting still is not an option.
