The tough Kat is not afraid of anything. Not of the dark, not of her dreams ... Except that her mother won't get out of bed. She decides she must make the most beautiful drawing in the world to save her mother. But is that even possible? And what if you want to be brave, while also being a little scared?
In Banger than me, a world full of shadows and magical drawings comes to life as soon as the lights go out. Writer Sanne Schuhmacher and director Dimphna van Kempen create an imaginative performance about facing your fears head on. Last year they won the award for best youth theatre performance with A Country Inside My Head.
Director Dimphna van Kempen: "Many children in the Netherlands carry a big caring burden and above all want to see their parents happy. With this performance, I grant all brave children the courage to face their fear."
