Manon Babtist, Margriet Blom, Hay Hermans, and Nadja Willems present work across a variety of disciplines—from ceramics and photography to realistic painting and mixed media. The result is a playful and tasteful exhibition in which familiar dishes are transformed into small works of art.
The works share a striking simplicity: the food takes center stage, almost as if it were on a stage. At the same time, there is humor and character in every image. A serving of fries becomes a theatrical composition, a bunch of asparagus looks like a precious package, an onion continues to grow defiantly, and three fried eggs gaze at you almost mischievously.
Through color, composition, and recognition, the works reinforce one another and show that we don’t just eat with our mouths, but also with our eyes.
“It is all about food!” is a lighthearted, surprising exhibition that proves that art and food are a perfect combination.
Exhibition: Luijt Postma (paintings)
Luijt Postma spent his childhood in Soest and was a student at the Kerkebuurtschool.
As a young boy, he was in Mr. Hoek’s class.

After elementary school, he completed a hospitality training program in Utrecht and then attended the vocational school for civilian merchant marine personnel in Amsterdam. His goal was to sail on ocean-going vessels and see a bit of the world. He enlisted with the former Stoomvaart Maatschappij Nederland in Amsterdam. Between his voyages, he served as a conscript in Germany, where he was stationed at a NATO base.

After his time at sea, he returned to school, attending the Roland Holst College in Hilversum, where he studied documentation and records management.
During his working life, he was employed by the Gooi and Vechtstreek Region, the municipality of Nederhorst den Berg, and the municipality of Wijdemeren.

He has now been retired for over ten years and lives in Huizen.
From a young age, Postma was fascinated by the work of Cobra and other modern artists and occasionally tried his hand at painting. Unfortunately, those early works have been lost over the years.

Since his retirement, he has picked up the brush again and is painting once more.
He explains that his work emerges spontaneously as he paints. Something always happens—sometimes it’s figurative, abstract, or inspired by nature.
