Amersfoort Sports Photo of the Year terms and conditions.

Where are the photo requirements?

The photo contest focuses on sports photos that capture the full spectrum of sports and showcase passion, performance, or movement. This means that photos can be submitted that, for example, show a volunteer in action, a coach, or an individual athlete or team. An important requirement is that the photo must have been taken in 2023 in Amersfoort, Hoogland, or Hooglanderveen.

 

How do you participate?
 

  • Delivery specifications
  • Maximum of three images per person.
  • Submit images as jpeg with max 3Mb. If your photo is nominated, we will ask for a higher resolution file.
  • Give your photos the following name: name_photographer_photo01,
  • And if you submit multiple photos`; Name_photographer_photo02 etc....
  • Send your images by November 6, 2023 00:00:00 to fotowedstrijd@amersfoortsportgala.nl

In the email, include your name, contact information and a brief description of the photo (including date and location of photo) (maximum 100 words)


Review
 

The first assessment of the photos will be done by photographers Heleen Jonkman and Arie Cijfer of 033fotostad. They choose the 20 best photos. The photos will be judged on aspects such as composition and choice of subject.

These selected photos will be judged again by the jury.
The jury consists, besides the alderman Sport and Exercise, of the well-known Amersfoort photographer Carla Kogelman and Hans van Helden of 033fotostad/Rietveldpaviljoen. They will judge the 20 best photos from the preliminary selection. The jury will then make a shortlist of ten sports photos that will be nominated for Amersfoort Sports Photo of the Year.
These photos will be requested in high resolution.
The photos will be displayed on screen during the sports gala. Also, based on a jury report, the jury will announce the numbers 1 to 3 during the Amersfoort Sports Gala on November 27.


Prize Winners


In addition to the honor of Amersfoort Sports Photo of the Year, there are three trophies to be won for the first, second and third prizes. In addition, the winning photos will be exhibited in an exhibition at the Sint-Joriskerk in Amersfoort to be held in spring 2024.

Terms and conditions photo contest Amersfoort Sports Gala 2023

 

  1. By submitting one or more photos, the entrant agrees to these terms and conditions.

  1. Participation in the photo contest is open to all.

  1. Entrants may submit up to three photos

  1. Entries must be submitted digitally no later than November 06, 2023. Participation is possible by emailing a photo to fotowedstrijd@amersfoortsportgala.nl

  1. The photo must be submitted as a JPEG file. The file size of the photo should be a maximum of 3 MB. Photos that do not meet these specifications will automatically be excluded from participation.

  1. The photo must have been taken in 2023.

  1. The photo must have been taken in Amersfoort, Hoogland or Hooglanderveen.

  1. Send the original photo, so no edited or manipulated photo, no photo with watermark or text, no photo composed of multiple shots.

  1. However, light image editing is allowed.

  1. In up to 100 words, describe what you photographed and the location where the photo was taken.

  1. All entries will be judged by a panel of judges. The judges will evaluate the photos on aspects such as composition and choice of subject matter.

  1. No correspondence can be entered into about the results.

  1. The photo cannot be submitted in modified form after submission.

  1. The 10 nominees will be notified by Nov. 15, 2023.

  1. By submitting a photo, you grant the organization permission to use the photo royalty-free (at no cost) during the sports gala and in various publications by the organization. where possible, the participant’s name will be credited upon publication.

  1. Photos that do not meet the technical specifications or are offensive will be excluded from participation.

  1. The entrant guarantees that he/she is the rightful owner of the photograph he/she has submitted. In the event of liability due to (alleged) infringement of third-party rights related to the photograph - whether copyright or other rights - the entrant indemnifies the organization against such liability.

  1. The entrant retains ownership of the submitted photo. The entrant may use the photograph without obligation.

  1. The participant is responsible for obtaining the necessary consent regarding the subject/content. If a depicted person is depicted recognizably in the picture, they must have provided provable consent.

  1. The organization is not liable for claims or complaints arising from infringement of third party rights or damages suffered by third parties as a result of the subject/content of entries, and the entrant agrees to indemnify and hold the organization harmless in such cases.

  1. By participating and posting your photo, you agree to your personal data being processed. This way a winner can be notified about inclusion of the photo in the exhibition. Your data will not be made available to other parties. The use of personal data is of course done in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act.

  1. If none of the entries meet the judges' expectations, the organization may decide to terminate the contest.
