Amersfoort's sports gala already has many great moments to its name. Since the first edition in 2011 we celebrate the power of sports in our city, and in January 2026 we will do so for the fifteenth time!
This edition is not only about (top) sports, but about a city full of movement. From young to old, with or without limitations - everyone who moves belongs. It is about pride, energy and connection, in which we celebrate together the sporting highlights of 2025 and put the people in the spotlight who make it all possible. We are going to celebrate the Amersfoort Year of Sports 2025!

Retrospective Sports Gala 2024
On Monday, November 18, 2024, about 600 sports fans came to the Amersfoort Sports Gala in theatre Flint. There, Amersfoort athletes, trainers and volunteers were honored for their achievements in 2024. Mayor Bolsius and Alderman Van Koningsveld presented the annual medals and gold, silver and bronze sports medals in the youth and adult categories. But there was much more! Cody and Sienna (known from Holland's Got Talent) opened the program with a dazzling dance act, there was a skate demonstration on stage and Julia Adriane sang the song Voila accompanied by Bouwe Bruins on piano.
During the afternoon and evening program, visitors could also experience plenty of sports. Like the previous year, there was an interactive sports program that included a racing and a golf simulator, basketball, air field hockey, an 8-person soccer table and even a rodeo bull.
