Clock Tower
The Cathedral Tower functions primarily as a bell tower, and has a unique collection of bells. The total of fourteen bells weigh over 31,000 pounds, and few churches can match that. The tower also houses a carillon that is played by the city carillon every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon. From April through November, you can also listen to the carillon on Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. as well.

Tours
The Cathedral Tower is an impressive structure on the outside, but it is also worth seeing on the inside. During a tour, an experienced guide will take you upstairs and teach you all about the history of the tower, its restoration and the accompanying Dom Church. The tour lasts an hour and is given a few times a day.
For a complete experience of this historic piece of Utrecht, you can also visit the Dom Church.
Dom to Stoneware
The Dom Tower is under scaffolding for restoration through 2024. 'From Dom to steengoed' ensures that as many pieces of the Dom as possible, however small, are reused. By the end of 2024, the residual material from the restoration of the Dom Tower will be fully circular and incorporated into all kinds of Utrecht products and initiatives. This is how a historical icon contributes to the future of the city. You too can contribute to this project. How? Get a piece of the Dom now through the lottery or later this year through auction or sale. Participate in the creative ideas competition where you can submit an idea on how the debris can be reused in new Utrecht products. Stay up to date on how the residual material is being used for circular projects in the city via vandomtotsteengoed.nl.
