SOLD is a reverse auction, a performance, and a moral experiment in which every second counts. It is a performance about the price of creation as well as a rauw and intimate portrait of artist Raven Kangee (Bram Ravenhorst). He steadfastly continues to share his life and work on stage, even when recognition, financial success, or prestige fail to materialize.
The Amersfoort-based multidisciplinary artist is literally putting his work on the line. The paint is still wet, the clock is ticking, and the sale begins immediately. Each canvas has a starting price, which continues to drop throughout the auction. The first person to bid buys the work for the price currently displayed on the counter. If no bid is placed, the work will be destroyed.
