In line with the theme of Open Monument Day 2026—“Resilient Heritage”—this exhibition brings together artists from diverse disciplines. From textiles and ceramics to installations and visual art, each artist explores in their own way how vulnerability and strength are intertwined.
Monuments may seem unchanging, but they actually tell stories of adaptation, restoration, and reinvention. That idea serves as the central theme of this exhibition. The works show how materials wear down, transform, and take on new meaning—and how it is precisely in this process that the essence of resilience becomes visible.
“Resilience” focuses not only on preserving the past but also on moving forward. What requires protection, and what calls for renewal? How do we remain connected to what was, without standing still?
