Starry Evening March 20, 2026

It is already the last stargazing evening of this winter season. Spring is coming and the dark evenings will soon disappear. Another great opportunity in clear weather to see the beautiful winter constellations such as Orion, Gemini and Taurus. It can't be said often enough, but Orion is one of the nurseries of new stars. We tell you how this is.
Also, the planet Jupiter is still around with its four moons Io, Ganymede, Europa and Callisto. Names that appeal to the imagination. Did you know there are two satellite missions - JUICE and EUROCLIPPER - heading for Jupiter's icy moons to investigate them and there may be life in the giant oceans covered by thick ice sheets. The moon Europa has more liquid water than Earth. With energy from the sun or from volcanic chimneys and the necessary building materials, the conditions for life are in place.
Enjoy our presentations in Het Groene Huis so you know what you can see tonight using our telescopes set up especially for you at the observatory .
Of course, even if the weather is cloudy, you are welcome to come and go home enriched with knowledge.
And if the weather is disappointing, don't worry. In het Groene Huis (where the starting point is) and the Observatory we offer various presentations and demonstrations so that you go home enriched with knowledge..................but come first of course!
We'll tell you all kinds of things and you can fire all kinds of questions at us. We are ready for you. And if you can't make it, you should know that in October we will start again a series of new stargazing evenings.
