Exhibition "What a Portrait!

Hand-embroidered portraits by textile artist and photographer Jet Kraanen and students of the Portretatelier.

For a few years now, a unique form of embroidery class has been given at the Portretatelier in Leusden by textile artist and photographer Jet Kraanen. A portrait photo as a starting point and an enormous diversity of stitches, materials and techniques together lead to fully hand-embroidered portraits. Each student, or in this case exhibitor, also brings her own techniques, preferences and tastes. During the exhibition at the Pastorie in Hoogland, Jet and her students will show their finest work.

That makes "What a Portrait!" a unique and special exhibition of very diverse embroidery. A contemporary application of the ancient craft.
