Helping is an art

From September 3 through 6, 2026, the Rietveldpaviljoen will host the solidarity exhibition “Helping Is the Art.” With this special exhibition, we are drawing attention to the ongoing crisis in Gaza, the decades-long oppression of the Palestinian people, and the genocide currently taking place. Turn your sense of powerlessness into action, because doing nothing is not an option. Helping Is the Art.

During the exhibition, works of art and books will be available for purchase, all of which have been generously donated by artists and writers from the Amersfoort region. All proceeds will go directly to two aid organizations dedicated to supporting the Palestinian people: the Palestine Fund of the Plant an Olive Tree Foundation and Doctors Without Borders. The money will be used, among other things, for emergency aid.

Program
From Thursday, September 3, through Sunday, September 6, the artworks and books will be on display and available for immediate purchase.

On Sunday, September 6, an open-bid auction will be held for the works that have not yet been sold. The auctioneer is Gerard de Kleijn. Prior to the auction, there will be a short program featuring, among others, Esther van der Most, director of Plant an Olive Tree/The Palestine Fund, who will speak about the organization’s work.

The exact program and times will be announced shortly.

Practical Information
- Artworks and books are available for immediate purchase at a fixed price and will remain on display until the end of the exhibition, marked as “sold.”
- Purchased works can be picked up on Sunday, September 6, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Payment can be made via iDeal (QR code) or bank transfer. Assistance will be available on site.
- You can choose whether your contribution goes to one of the two charities or is split between them.
- Visitors on a tight budget can purchase some works at a lower price. We rely on the buyer’s honesty in this regard.
- Unsold works will be auctioned off on Sunday afternoon. Even if you don’t make a purchase, you can still make a donation using the QR codes provided.
