Art on (and in) an envelope
Mailart constitutes for Adriana Nichting and Nelleke Ponsteen a weekly correspondence in which art and personal stories come together. For more than a year they have been sending each other envelopes that are not ordinary mail, but completely transformed works of art, both on the outside and inside. In the spirit of the Fluxus movement, they use collage, drawing and painting to share ideas in a free, accessible way. This creates a visual dialogue about life themes and their art practice. Envelopes and enclosed cards thus form a personal correspondence. This produces inspiring and intriguing images and engaging communication.
