Waterline boat trip + cotton printing workshop

Experience Amersfoort from a special perspective during this theme boat trip, in which history, heritage and creativity come together. The Vestingroute with cotton printing workshop is a unique collaboration between De Waterlijn and De Katoendrukkerij.

During the approximately 45-minute boat trip you will follow the route of the second city wall. Along the way you will pass green fortified gardens, restored city walls and places that remind you of the city's rich history. You will also discover more about the centuries of textile industry that shaped Amersfoort.

The route ends at the historic Koppelpoort and the Volmolen, an important monument from the city's textile past. Since 2020, this has been home to De Katoendrukkerij , an artisanal workshop where hand-engraved wooden printing blocks are used to print on textiles and paper.

After the boat trip you will walk to the Volmolen for a cotton printing workshop. Under guidance you will design and print a cotton bag with wooden printing blocks in one hour. You take home your homemade creation as a lasting memory of this special morning.
