Take a look in advance

In Woyzeck: In the TBS, professional actors, tbs patients and staff together explore Georg Büchner's world-famous, unfinished play. A soldier slowly losing his grip on reality. An affair. A knife. A murder. Woyzeck is one of the first texts in world literature to depict the insanity of crime and show that an offender can not only be guilty, but also a victim.

Büchner left 27 separate scenes that can be played in any order. In Woyzeck: In the TBS, by director Casper Vandeputte, the story is made live and each night can end differently. On stage, a group of employees of the Van der Hoeven Clinic and tbs patients participate. Actors Vincent van der Valk and Marieke Giebels move between them, directing, playing and interrupting.

What happens in the mind of someone who loses his grip on life and becomes increasingly violent, and what does that do to bystanders and loved ones? When a perpetrator turns out to be a victim as well, how far away are we really from violence ourselves? And why do we keep watching, what fascinates us?

In Woyzeck: In the TBS we seek the edge of madness, the step towards violence. Every night ultimately revolves around one question, which is important to every actor, every tbs patient and every visitor: can you become a different person?
