Album release concert Femke Mooren

Femke Mooren is a 23-year-old ambitious saxophonist from Rotterdam, known for her clear and warm sound. As leader of the Femke Mooren Quartet, she brings her own compositions to life, combining rich melodies with improvisation. The quartet won the 2023 Prinses Christina Jazz Concours. She also received the Women in Jazz Prize that same year.

Her music is characterized by bright, captivating compositions in which each band member is given space to shine. The judges praised the group's dynamic expression and balanced musicianship. She recently completed her bachelor's degree in Jazz Saxophone at Codarts Rotterdam, where she further refined her style and drew inspiration from various musical traditions, using her jazz background as a foundation.

With her debut album, soon to be released, the listener will be taken on a journey through her life over the past few years. Expect a fine blend of jazz and melodic themes to fill your Wednesday night!
