Science Cafe Amersfoort

Science Café Amersfoort is making its debut! Katrien Keune will be the guest speaker at this very first event, titled “The Colors of The Night Watch.” She is the head of scientific research at the Rijksmuseum and will discuss the research behind the restoration of The Night Watch. How did Rembrandt approach it? What did the colors originally look like? What kinds of pigments were used? And what’s the best way to preserve the painting?
Anyone interested in this topic is welcome. The event is open to all and free of charge. You can listen while enjoying a drink; there will be music by the Amersfoort band Struikelgras, and after the break, there will be plenty of time for questions and interaction. The presentation will be led by Antoine van Roemburg.
