"Girl hides"

Exhibition of three young female artists at Frame.de.gallery.

'Girl hides herself' is a multi-media exhibition about longing for a nostalgic childhood. But now that we have taken off our rose-colored glasses, we suddenly look at this romanticized princess world very differently.

Welcome to our treasure chamber full of irony of the past, Where we magnify feelings about our past as well as butterfly hair clips. This forms a spatial time capsule where our desires and frustrations as young women are relativized through colorful installations, absurdist textile sculptures and dreamlike videos.

Barbara Dijks, Berber Struiksma and Lucie van Collem got to know each other while studying at the HKU where they graduated in different fields. For several years now, they have shared not only a studio space but also their multidisciplinary and playful way of working. This resulted in a first joint exhibition; Girl hiding herself.
