Resistance!

In Resistance! Sahand Sahebdivani explores what it's like to live with the stories of World War II, the Iranian revolution and ancient Persian myths of good and evil, while today's news seems to overtake those old war stories. Expect a mix of storytelling, spoken word, archival footage and exciting live music from jazz drummer and virtuoso Henning Luther.

Verzet! was developed in collaboration with Productiehuis Mozaïek. This performance is the thematic sequel to Sahand's previous performance Het Verre Woord. Sahand Sahebdivani (1980) was born in Tehran, Iran. In 1983, he fled to the Netherlands with his family during the Iraq-Iran war. His turbulent family history forms the basis of most of his work. In addition to being an inspired storyteller, Sahand is also a musician. Sahand has been narrating for more than 20 years.
