For anyone who was there too late at the time or just wanted to see him again...Boys' Hours is back!
'Everything depends on this trial. If this succeeds, I can move on, I can start a new life: drink, fight, fuck, go to the sea, work in ports, roam the docks at night, hustle, ride, curse, fraternize with men, chat up women, become a great doctor - abroad, of course. Let the whole damn life drip down my chin like a juicy fruit, merde, at least be anything but well behaved and adjusted out of fear of life.'
Welcome to the world of the Dutch sixties....

Welcome to the world of Dutch sixties writer Andreas Burnier, who has fallen into oblivion despite her progressive, still hyper topical work on identity and sexuality. Burnier wrote about those topics in a way that sounds familiar now, but was still considered highly controversial at the time - and had great impact.
This theater adaptation of Burnier's work breathes the zeitgeist, the double standards of the postwar period, and the desire for freedom of a young Jewish gay woman in a world where "deviations" are frowned upon. We see four actors, four women on the floor, alternately playing Andreas Burnier and the characters she created.
Investigative and almost documentary theater about one of Holland's greatest queer writers.
