Dante Songbook: Love and Darkness, part of September Me festival

Dante Songbook is a theatrical concert by Sterre Konijn, inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy. It explores the search for the soul, love and darkness, asking: what does it mean to be human today? Sterre descends into the dark caverns of her own soul in search of love and harmony while embracing the chaos and shadows of life.

The concert combines Italian singing with Dutch lyrics and a rich instrumentation, including percussion, viola, theremin and duduk. It brings a blend of contemporary classical music, Gregorian chant, pop and minimal music, offering a bridge between the past and the present, inspired by Dante's journey through Hell to Paradise.

Dante Songbook is a musical quest for enlightenment and the deep connection between love and darkness.
