Plant Ink on Textiles

In this workshop we will make plant ink to apply to cotton. Plant ink is a water-based ink, contains no harmful chemicals and is 100% accountable to nature. We will make three colors using both fresh and dry plants to make ink. I'll take you through the whole process. We will use the ink to decorate the cotton fabric with stamps, brushes, stencils or get a pattern by binding the fabric. Then we will fix the fabric so the cotton can be washed and the ink will not disappear.

There will be brushes, stamps and stencils, sample patches ready to experiment with. Any ink left over after the workshop will be distributed and may be taken home.
