String Orchestra Festival

From Wednesday, may 28 through Saturday, may 31 may 2025, Amersfoort comes alive with the unique String Orchestra Festival, a once-in-a-lifetime event highlighting the versatility of string music. Eight special concerts, from established musicians to young award winners and surprising combinations, will take place at several iconic venues across the city, including the Sint Aegtenkapel, Sint Joriskerk Franciscus Xavier Church and Flint. ESTA 2025 is an international initiative focused on the development and transmission of string music. The project brings together experienced string players, young talents and string orchestras, with the aim of passing on the rich tradition of string instruments to the next generation and sharing knowledge and experience. The String Orchestra Festival is an important part of this special occasion, held for the first and only time in the Netherlands this year.

Hawk Concerts embraces the initiative with enthusiasm and provides a platform for this unique project. It not only ensures that string music is given a new impulse, but also that Amersfoorters have the opportunity to enjoy unparalleled talent and outstanding musicians. The festival offers a varied program of performances that bring the power and beauty of string instruments to life, at some of Amersfoort's most beautiful and prestigious venues.
