GRIMM

Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and her seven dwarfs: they all pass by in GRIMM, a performance by ISH Dance Collective and the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet. This energetic and imaginative performance for young and old proves that hip-hop and ballet are a golden duo.

Fantasy World

Through a video game, two brothers end up in a fantasy world, where they meet various fairy tale characters from the famous stories of the GRIMM brothers. In the game, they encounter an evil witch who tries to take control of four kingdoms. The witch will only succeed if he manages to match four handsome princes to Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel. Of course, the brothers gladly lend a hand to put a stop to that.

Stunning pirouettes and head spins.

Through the video projections in GRIMM anything seems possible: a fruity spring forest changes in no time into an ominous witch forest. In it the dancers show where they are good at: dizzying pirouettes, impressive jumps, jerky popping-and-locking movements and stunning head spins.

Collaboration

The revival GRIMM is one of three joint productions by Marco Gerris and Ernst Meisner, the artistic directors of the hip-hop dance collective ISH Dance Collective and the Junior Company of the Dutch National Ballet, respectively. The fact that their backgrounds are completely different is precisely their strength, according to them. Ernst Meisner: "By using a variety of dance styles, the possibilities only increase."

Please note, this performance is suitable for anyone 8 years old and older. We want every visitor - including the little ones - to leave our theatre with a positive experience. Theatre producers create a performance especially for children of a certain age or older. The minimum age is indicated for each performance.

This performance is free up to 12 years

In theaterseason 2025-2026 we offer three youth theatre performances for free for children up to 12 years old. At Flint, we believe it is important for every child to experience art and culture. Theatre stimulates the imagination, stimulates creativity and contributes to development. Therefore we welcome as many young visitors as possible. More about the free performances up to 12 years
