This year Amersfoort is dedicated to its military history as Garnizoensstad. Since 1860, the city has played an important role in national defense, with barracks, a military hospital and thousands of soldiers.
This summer, Gilde Amersfoort takes you on a special bike tour of Amersfoort's military heritage. Discover impressive sites such as the former Military Hospital, the Willem III and Juliana van Stolberg barracks, and cycle past the still active Bernhardkazerne.
A fun and educational route for anyone who loves history and wants to discover a special side of Amersfoort. Cycle along!
